Nowadays, every one is talking about the Coronavirus COVID-19 and its affects are alarming throughout the world. Intially, China's industrial city is affected very badly but now its became the global issue mentioned by the WHO. The Global Supply chain is affected in the short run as well but the experts in the field are trying to forecast its long termn affects.

How do you see the long term affects of Coronavirus COVID-19 spread on the Global Supply Chain Management?

It seems somewhat comical to me that alleged "supply chain professionals" allowed, encouraged, and built brittle non-redundant hyper-China-dependant supply chains, and now are fretting about disruptions which are inherent/inevitable in single-source scenarios.
The whole cronyCorpiratist mercenary dominator trickle-up capitalist kleptocracy is inherently unsustainable. It's had a pretty long run, and has managed to externalize most of its risk, cost, harm to far away places where people who don't matter live. The BAU racket deliberately conspires and schemes to defraud and predate on the societies in which they operate. Take hi-tech - Apple, Google, etc.
They rely on the educated healthy brain trust delivered by the social-democratic infrastructure built up over centuries of imperial/colonial extraction/exploitation/emission. They rely on relatively wealthy people buying their gizmos/services. The bean counters draw up the scenarios in which ditching domestic workers and outsourcing to slave-labour sweatshops overseas, and engaging in corpirate shall-gamery to minimize, avoid, evade taxation and thereby evade paying their share of what it costs to run the infrastructure they depend on.
OK, sure, outsource some production to China while keeping some domestic, and maybe outsourcing to some other country. THAT would be the foundation of a robust supply chain strategy. That is well known, but willfully overridden purely for short-term shareholder return maximization.
One might view COVID-19 as a Gaian self-defence mechanism.
The parasites are threatening the host, grinding up natural and human resources into digits in accounts and affluent and emissions. The degradation of natural life-support systems by our hyper-consumptive habits has blown past all the LimitsToGrowth, and past all the #BRIDGEOUT signs.
What's a planet to do ? Shake off some of the ticks and fleas ?
It will push companies to innovative new method to conduct the business with less physical contact
Even in the 1918 Spanish flu the world kept turning and the sun kept shining. China has shown us how to reduce the impact. Fatality rates are similar to the normal flue, so what's the difference? Modern building ventilation systems should help. ( As long as some idiot doesn't shut it off) I'm not saying business as usual. School classes can go 95 or 100% online interactive. Many people can telecommute.

Due to coronavirus the global supply chain facing a lot of operation problems and companies are totally confused to conduct business in such a turbulent business environment. Chaina is mail player of the almost all global supply chain networks.
A financial crisis looming, a bleak social, economic, and political future.
Promote cinsumption of local producers and manufacturers in order to take advantage on China´s lag. Soon they will be on track again and they are going to get what they lost in 2 o 3 trimesters.

Actually, the fatality rate is 20 times higher than the flu; the virus can live on a surface for up to 9 days; the transmission rate is higher than the flu, including 1 person with the flu can transmit it to 3-4 people before even knowing they are ill. So yes, it is similar to the flu in that it is transmitted via airborne, and infected touching surfaces and then your eyes/mouth. However, if you get it it is more likely to kill you (yes, of course bases on your age and overall health). One good news, if this is good news, is that [so far] it is more deadly in the older population than children.
Structure of the global supply chain will change. First, more and more manufacturers decide to reduce investment in China. They may move to south east Asia to maintain low production cost. In the second, they may focus one development of the flexibility supplier system, but that is difficult, especially communication with supplier......

There are lessons to be learnt from COVID-19. Foremost is do not put all your eggs in one basket. Many of the developed countries have shifted production to China and have become trading countries. Even in countries having manufacturing base, supplies of raw materials , components , assemblies are sourced from China. The SCM strategy of procuring from low-cost based economies have hit the world economies badly. At least now all countries should look at having there own manufacturing and agri- based industries in select sectors so that they will not face shortages and disruptions in supply chains. In spite of having arbitrage disadvantage it is sensible for governments to encourage local companies and SMEs so that they are insulated to a large extent if overseas suppliers are hit by calamities. It is important now that SCM experts, consultants and practitioners should re look at their global supply chain strategies in view of the pandemic.

Import substitution and local markets/supply of raw materials take prominence over cooperation and interdependence at regional and globally.
Slow progress in interdependence, cooperation, rapid transportation, and interconnectedness likely increase physical distancing as a measure against future pandemics. Hardened borders, self-reliance, and comparative advantage shunned for import substitution and local markets/supply. Overall globalization. Global economic recession very likely, the much-hyped stimulus package man may not provide the needed recovery. New business models and markets may emerge.
Citizens to obey their government instructions. Governments to limit interference in the economy. Entrepreneurs to come up with new business models, products, and services. investors to understand changing business landscape.
