Hello everyone,

I am looking into plating Ti-6Al-4V products with a bright nickel solution in an industrial environment (using standard wet electroplating solutions).

I have found several solutions to etch titanium and remove the oxide layer, using for example ammonium bifluoride / nitric acid , or hot hydrochloric acid.

I am now looking for an agent that would allow me to prevent the oxidation of the titanium prior to the nickel strike and thus maximise the adhesion of the nickel.

Would anyone be aware of an existing solution or chemical that would do this ?

Thank you very much,

Best regards,

Elie
