You can collect at outdoor mosquitoes biting persons during early night using torch lights, test-tube vials, cotton wool, wrist watches for keeping time, pens and papers for recording the time of collections, cellophane bags for collation of catches and low stools. The gold standard is to conduct human landing collections (HLC) outdoors. You should bear in mind that seasonality and mosquito density influences your results.

Outdoor mosquito collection can be done by using Human Landing Catch (HLC) which is recommended though nowadays become questionable; other methods can be applied by using attractants such as CO2, lactic acid and collection box/trap, mosquito magnet trap
We use aspirator portable electric. Adult mosquitoes were collected monthly with a hand net and portable electric catcher in the peridomiciliary and intradomiciliary premises of residences in an urban area with ongoing dengue transmission.
