I am working with MCNP and in my simulation I am working with micrometers. The location of the first 50 particles is tabled like this: z= 4.500E+00 (x and y is a similar story). The actual location is between 4.50020 and 4.50045. This is not shown due to the amount of decimals in the output. How can I increase the amount of decimals so that I can see the actual location of the particles?
MCNP has a lot of hard-coded assumptions as to the size of models you are working with. For example, close surfaces being snapped together at less than 1E-6m (or similar). As for the output, as far as I am aware, the only way to change the output format is to recompile from modified source code.
You will have to change and recompile the source code. Accuracy is limited by roundoff error.
