While writing for IEEE transactions on signal processing, if I have some novel algorithms (mathematical part), followed by a complexity analysis, followed by extensive simulation results and have the reasons why the improvements (and how) have been achieved. In most of the papers, in TSP, they provide analysis of the existing algorithms in novel way.
My question is whether my draft can be a candidate for IEEE TSP keeping the above facts in mind? The length of the paper on standard format has reached 13 pages.
I will be very much thankful for comments and feedback (especially negative).
Length of paper is never an issue in initial review. The reviewers will ask you to remove redundant parts or you might need to pay for additional pages and it will be published.
It is important to understand that no matter how good your work is, sometimes you get very tough reviews and your paper gets rejected. However, the quality of review will certainly improve you paper even further. In that case, don't get depressed.
Another important thing is organisation of your paper and its readability. Give your draft to your peers and ask them to read it. If they can go through, abstract, introduction and conclusion part without asking you, "Hey, what do you mean here?." You are ready. Because these three sections setup the reviewers and help him get a good picture of you idea. Actually, many reviewers already makeup their mind after reading the intro, if they are going to accept the paper or not.
If there are no obvious flaws in the idea, the paper will most likely go through. inshAllah.
