As almost every researcher would accept, it essential that we find an appropriate journal for our scholarly work. We are often advised to find a journal before we write our article so as to be aware of the type of research published in a particular journal and to structure your paper based on specific requirements of that journal.

How you find an appropriate journal for submission? And at what point during your research do you do that? One way is to get some recommendations from peers or to examine the articles published in a particular journal. Another way is to use journal finders offered by some publishers (e.g., Elsevier, Thomson R.).

In short, I am curious about your experiences of finding appropriate journals for paper submission?
