I am trying to differentiate between these two species using the arrangement of cells, shape of chloroplasts and number of pyrenoids. Can anyone guide or recommend any literature to assist in this?

Ulva intestinalis has a hollow thallus that does not expand. Branches are present but seldom (not like U. prolifera, which present lot of branches).
Ulva linza has a not compressed and hollow holdfast. The thallus expands into a flabellate compressed form.
Hello, currently the identification of the species of the genus Ulva vasados only in morphological characters is very complicated. In this genus there are many cryptic species, which are difficult to identify only through morphology. Anyway I recommend these jobs that can help you:
