I'm trying to conduct an experiment on the optimization of extraction of lemongrass oil using soxhlet extraction. My Optimum parameters are temperature, time and lemongrass to solvent ratio. I'm having a hard time deciding the varying temperatures and time range to use and the number of runs. I would appreciate any type of help whatsoever.

What I understand from your description, is that you are varying all the parameters at the same time. My suggestion would be to vary one parameter at a time keeping the rest of the parameters constant using some arbitrary values. You can always fine tune these at a later stage.
