I have regular images of Western Blots (JPEG and TIFF) that I would like to use in ImageLab to quantify and compare to new blots that I recently acquired using the Biorad Chemidoc digital imager.
Are you sure of the name? SCN is "scene rtrace", a file format used for ray tracing. I would also expect applications for gel documentation to understand .tiff and to export it at least as alternative file format. It is the lowest common denominator for file exchange, because it uses no lossy compression, unlike jpeg.
Perhaps you could use NIH-image (https://imagej.nih.gov/nih-image/) for comparisons.
If you go to the folder icon that says "open", then choose the "options" button next to the "new folder" button you can then scroll and select the format ImageLab will import your images in.
Thanks for your replies. I just have scanned images that I want to be able to use in ImageLab. I was able to convert to .tif format but when I try to open in image lab I get an error saying "Unsupported RGB color image. Only 8 and 16 grayscale images can be loaded" Any ideas on how to get past this? Thanks
Hello, Do any one find out solution for that problem " Unsupported RGB color image. Only 8 and 16 grayscale images can be loaded" when i upload tiff western blot diagram result.
