How do you assess the effect of land cover change on soil erosion by using one single year of remote sensing data applied in two different small watersheds which have different land covers? Watershed A is dominated by agricultural area which used to be forest area, and Watershed B is a watershed that is still dominated by forest. These two small watersheds are in the same large watershed.

Depending what model you would use, you need to vary only land cover (hence, runoff potential), assuming soils are similar, no major topographic difference and then evaluate the runoff response of the two watersheds. if you are using CN approach, you will expect smaller CN for a forest cover than agriculture.
