Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Kia, Toyota, BMW are some of the automotive companies using 3D printing. I learnt about 75% of car parts are 3D printed using ABS plastic and carbon fibre. Automakers are working hard to make this 90%.
Probably, the cars of the future will be 3D printed and recyclable.

Dr Yakubu , very good, I am wondering if it moved from formal factories to local houses to be home-made.
To my knowledge, there are current limitations for home-made 3D printed car parts, like; cost of 3D printing technology and the technical know-how.
I have not seen it anywhere yet, where 3D printers are used for home-made car parts - but utilising 3D printers in this way is very much possible.
As the technology advances and becomes more popular, and with the manufacturing of vehicles with largely 3D printed car parts, in the near future, home-made 3D printed car parts could be common.
