Good afteroon, may I have a question please...How do you manage patients with stingling, burning sesnsation after dental impantation?My colleague who provided treatment with dental implant in loco 46 referred me his patient with discomfort, higher sesitivity of left lateral border of tongue and sensitivity or left buccal mucosa. Clinically, oral mucosa is without any pathological lesions. X ray showed no abnormalities, MELISA test revealed slightly elevation of sensitivity to titan ions, but expert explained it as "border" levels.
Any "treatment" option? Thank you for your comments!!!!
By giving soothing agent like xyloacain gel 2% or allermine 12.5mg per 5ml elexir or benzydamine hydrochloride 0.15%...
If the complain persist you can prescribe dexamethasone 0.5 mg per 5ml elixir mouth washes 1x3 before and after meal.
If persist you can give clonazepam 0.5 mg tablet at bed time for 10 days.
You are welcome. also they found another drug effective like:
1- gabapentin 300 up to1600mg daily.
2- amitryptaline (tryptizole) 10mg up to 100mg daily at bed time for 10 days.
3- capsacin (zosterix) 0.025 ointment in reluctant cases.
