I am modelling the rise of an air bubble inside water. The geometry is 2 dimensional and I am using Volume of Fluid method for obtaining the solution. I have created a structured mesh for my domain. How can I transport the mesh along with the bubble as it rises through the fluid?
Why do you want to transport your mesh? With VOF the bubble will move over a fixed mesh.
Mesh resolution inside and near the bubble is finer, initially. Hence, I want to transport that region of mesh along with the bubble. One option is to make the entire mesh of the same resolution but that would make it computationally more intensive.
True, although often the extra computation time for a finer mesh is actually small when compared to all the effort needed to set up a remeshing problem ;) Anyway, have you consulted the FLUENT manual? In the old (but openly available) manual there is this:
