When talking of those who do translation in news media, are we talking about translators who do journalism, or journalists who do translation? How do we differentiate between the various roles that these agents serve in their professional context?
For my new research, I am planning to interview journalistic translators about their experiences in social media. To avoid any confusion between those experiences which directly relate to their translatorial position, and those which belong other professional and non-professional dimensions, I'm thinking how I could define a journalistic translator and their different, overlapping roles and functions, so as to guide the interviews in the relevant direction.
Suggestions (references to read, methodological approaches etc.) are most welcome.
