This is with special reference to the Indigenous Peoples of North America.
There may be a topic in medical education that addresses cultural competence, cultural values, cultural perspectives existing in North America in health care dealing with health disparities, including American Native Indians, African_Americans and new immigrants.
First teachers from of different cultural backgrounds must be equipped to teach students of culturally diverse backgrounds. Once they acquire such cultural competencies, then they can teach their students how to culturally responsive to others of diverse cultural backgrounds by modelling the behaviour, taking students on cultural tours to include sacred places which are sometimes the bedrock of cultures. I have dealt with this issue cultural sensitivity in my research which I hope would be useful for you.
