Pupils and students use social media portals to exchange information useful for education. In addition, Facebook and students create group profiles where they put together teaching materials. In addition, they create questionnaire forms for the purposes of surveys, the results of which are used for written diploma and final papers.

The extent to which social media spaces encourage learning is complex and largely situational. Who is the group? Which medium are they using? In some cases, it can be helpful and others, it won't. I have participated in, and researched, how teacher candidates and educators use Twitter chats for professional learning (see below) and how social media functions within larger professional learning networks (PLNs). I think social media can be helpful if participants find the space accessible, interesting, and engaging. But I would not count on social media improving a dull educational experience.

There are a lot of media offers today that compete with each other for the favor of children, which means on the one hand that they try to generate emotional attachment to create dependency (habitual use). The second and actual motive is the demand on the user's time. We live in a media experience society. Its offers for the favor of the users fight a hard, also economically relevant battle. For parents who have their own relationship problems (or professional difficulties) it is easiest to leave the children to the social media - according to the principle: the children themselves know what they want and what does them good.
The media have taken over the education of the young generation before a mother or father asks themselves in a quiet minute whether it is good for the child if it is on the net four hours a day or longer. Shouldn't you create a stimulating environment at home that allows the child to interact with the world in three dimensions (because life on the net is reduced to the two dimensions of the screen)? But to realize this is difficult, the media to which one can devote oneself (such as chatting, starting a shitstorm against third parties), without possessing a psychological resource capable of developing resistance to the time-consuming mediatization of everyday life.
It plays only a minor role whether the family, parents and children, sat in former decades on the sofa of the family and watched together the "Sesamestreet" or "Lassie" (of course remained silent among each other) or whether today they are - every family member for themselves - busy with their own smartphone. These are the forms of modern self-determination that improve using the media to own desire, celebrating their successes.
It is satisfying that not all parents go this way. They spend their time with children and let them experience the own awakening interests - for instance to learn to play an music instrument which needs much time for exercise), to learn to live conscious regarding environment and to develop resistance against the garbage of silly but effectively working offers. The media are the dominating fact in modern live in vocational training, professional life and leisure time. If this is clear, than you need a kind of education which creates time spaces for quite other important things in the world.

Social media has attracted people much attention to them. In some levels, they have more harm than benefit. For example, I observed large mathematics classrooms many times at a university. Many students used laptops to watch movies or use social media to communicate with others. Then, how do they learn mathematics if they do not listen to teachers in classes? In fact, many students failed in mathematics learning.

I have studied Twitter for months. I have found there are no system curriculum materials for students' learning, but social media can provide extra knowledge after school activities.
In some cases it affects positively and in some negatively. However, It has brought revolutionary way.
When you learn something as a participant of - non-academic - social media, it is above all the negative sides. Such experiences are important. One usually learns much less to understand that social media very quickly lead to time-consuming dependency. But that's how it is. People can no longer detach themselves from the social media. Positive learning processes in the social-emotional and cognitive areas can be learned much more thoroughly without social media. To play a musical instrument or to paint an expressive face, to read a book or to visit a time-critical play, one does not learn through social media. The flattening and restriction of all education through permanent participation in social media is frightening in my view. But people who say that you can learn something with the social media are not interested at all. Something you always learn. But above all, learn about many social filth and egoism in the forms of self-representation - and practice them yourself.
Students use social media and they may develop social media addiction. As a result, social media will be negatively influence learning.
Has any of you studied the social effects of using social media on smartphones by young people?
What social negative and positive aspects can be given to the use of social media on smartphones by young people? Which social aspects prevail? Is the use of classical research methods adequate in the assessment of this problem, or should new research methods be adapted to new media? If the youth devotes more than for example one hour a day to browsing social media portals, are there no negative aspects that may disturb social development and sociological, educational and psychological factors? Are there adequate development of new media developed - new research methods that would objectively examine the above issues objectively? On the basis of these studies, one could define a framework for the safe use of social media portals in terms of posted posts, comments and news and, for example, in terms of time spent on the use of these media on a daily basis.

Are commercial banks already introducing sentiment analysis conducted on Big Data data collected from social media portals to the standard of customer verification procedures?
Inclusion of the sentiment analysis conducted on Big Data collected from social media portals could be an important additional information on the economic and financial situation of the potential client. This type of information can be a significant additional factor of full verification, eg creditworthiness of a potential borrower. I know that some service companies, marketing companies, insurance companies and banks include the sentiment analysis carried out on data collected in Big Data database systems collected from social media portals for verification of potential customers. But is it already becoming a standard or is it only at the design stage for now?

My impression is that social media are not specially helpful for the youth.
Having recently returned to study and have had a very inactive few years, due to health media, I find I'm now reducing my FB and Twitter activities, to sources that I think could help me with my studies or other interests. I've found my social use of FB is narrowing to contact with family, close friends and birthdays etc. Now with a bit more experience under my belt, I finding social media portals useful.

I think this is a question comes into everyone's mind at some point. Let's get some perspective. Statistically, there are approximately 2.62 BILLION users on social media in the world. So that's potentially 2.62 billion people that you are able to connect and market your school to for FREE! Realistically your school probably won't reach that number but it's a figure you can't ignore. Budgets are tight and teachers have limited time on their currently packed schedule. So, how can your school attract new pupils, parents, and staff? It's time to start realising the potential of social media and how it can benefit your school immensely when used well.
