In Wave Optics ----> Electromagnetic Waves
I wish to study the effective refractive index variation w.r.t. variation of the magnetic field. Here, I need to know how to vary the magnetic field for the designed structure of photonic crystal fiber.

To study the effective refractive index variation, if magnetic field is required along the length of photonic crystal fiber that magnetic field may be applied using solenoid. But it will be effective upto the length of solenoid. Also the Electromagnetic field it self contain magnetic field so to increase the intensity of wave can be used to study the magnetic field effect like nonlinearity in electric field.
If the field is required perpendicular to fibers length then magnetic poles can be used.
