I have done extract essential oil from agarwood by steam distillation coupled cohobation. The problems is the oil change in solid fraction at room temperature due to wax content of its oil. Separation by fractional distillation cost expensive. Do you have any method for separating it cheaply?

The composition of agarwood essential oil obtained through hydro-distillation and solvent extraction with acetone, dichloromethane and hexane as the solvents were analyzed for marker compound identification using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).Or can be extracted using water (steam distillation), hydro Distillation, Cold Pressing, Supercritical Fluid and High Pressure Solvent Extraction . I have more experience with removing wax from citrus oils, but the same techniques will work. One way is to chill the oil to about 4 deg C, let stand for 48 hours to allow the precipitated was to settle, then decant the clear oil. For more complete removal, the decanted oil can be filtered, using either a conventional filter or a crossflow microfiltration membrane.
