I have received P L 2,3 edge XANES data in he hope of establishing coordination in my glasses. The TEY samples used a small amount of Carbon so that he samples were conductive. The raw spectra produced have very prominent Carbon K-edge peaks in my data that effects the Phosphorus characteristic peaks, and therefore needs to be removed. Any advice on how to process this data so that it can then be processed in Athena?

the P L1 edge is at 189eV and the P L2,3 edge is at 132eV.
The C K-edge is at edge is 284eV.
So the C K-edge starts about 150eV above the P L2,3 edge.
XANES structures extend in general to about 50 or even a bit more eV above the edge energy. So the C-K edge is far away enough, even when the C K-edge will bear any pre-edge structures.
However there is the P L1 edge at about only 57 eV above the P L2,3 edge; this edge might stronger bother you than the C- K-edge does.
There is no way known to me to separate the different edge contributions.
The only thing you can do is to skip your data at about 175eV to 180eV (a bit in front of the P L1 edge). So you will have about 45eV of energy space for your XANES data evaluation; that is enough ...

@Artur the sample was a 5mm diameter pellet that had to be mixed out with pure graphite and mounted on a small sample holder at the beamline.
