My organization received a large grant from a private foundation that has a strict policy of anonymity. This foundation does not regularly fund scientific research, but my work was part of the larger grant. As I begin to disseminate results from this research, I am accustomed disclosing and acknowledging all funding sources in presentations and publications. However, this violates the foundation's policy of anonymity, and they are requesting evidence that it is absolutely necessary to disclose their name in publications. Many of the resources I've found from journal websites don't specifically state that listing funding sources anonymously is prohibited, so I am having difficulty justifying my desire for transparency. Any advice or resources that I could share with the foundation would be much appreciated!
