I am not sure whether I correctly understand your question. You wrote "For measuring Young's modulus of the film, elastic compliances are required" If your final objective is to obtain the Young's modulus, then you can use simple standard tensile testing, provided that your films are self-supporting. We are using an Instron tensile tester for polymer films with thicknesses down to 10 micrometers and it works ok.

Dear Josef,

There is a difference between strain and micro-strain related to polymer film. I want to measure mechanical properties with the help of XRD analysis. Therefore Williamson-Hall plot produces all the results. Please provide the other method (from XRD measurement) from which I can analysis mechanical properties of my film.

The limit of elasticity (relative elongationn, strain)  of the polymer films ranged only from 0.05% to 0.25%

I want to ask about theta when you use it for the plot (beta cos(theta) for the y-axis and 4sin(theta) for the x-axis), my question is: do use use theta in degree or rad?

Good morning, please i need your help. I am trying to used the different Williamson-Hall models to estimate the crystallites size of CuSe NPs. i was oportune to used UDM and size-strain plot to calculate the crystallites size. My difficulties is how to find the elastic compliance of my sample and their respective young modulus. As such will enable me to use the remaining models like USDM USDEM and soon.
