I am designing a metal detector for certain recyclable metals use a pulse induction coil. If I know the dimensions and properties of the piece of metal I am detecting and the size of the coil I am using how to I calculate the maximum distance the coil can detect this object at? I have tried using Biot-Savart Law and other various methods but so far cannot reach a definitive solution. Thanks,
