I am currently using the Folin-Ciocalteau (F-C) method to determine total phenolic content in wheat samples, using a standard curve for ferulic acid. However, my concentrations are expressed in µg/ml and I want to compare my initial results with a paper that has expressed their concentrations in µg/g of dry weight.
How do I convert the concentration?

You should consider the initial weight of extracted wheat sample and the used amount of solvent in the unit of ml/g. This will be the dilution factor. Then, when you multiply the 2 units, you will get w/w unit. For dry weight estimation, you must have dry matter content of your sample and if you have that, the final value would be calculated as µg/g x (100/Y). Here Y is the % dry weight content of the sample.

Lets say you took 2ml for colorimetric experiment from the colour development solution ( 2ml of sample solution + folin ciocalteau) and you got some 46 micrograms
Then the 2 ml of colour development solution is having 46 micro gram
Total volume of colour development solution is 10ml (let's say) then total phenol in 10 ml will be (46/2) * 10
The actual amount in 10 ml 230 micro gram
If you added 2 ml of wheat extract ( which was prepared by treating the 2gram of wheat sample with 10 ml of solvent) as sample solution for colour development then the 2 ml of wheat extract will have 230 micrograms Of total phenols
Therefore the total 10 ml will have (230/2) *10 = 1150 micro gram
Since 10 ml was prepared from 2gram
The 2 gram will have 1150 micro gram of total phenols

You need to know the concentration of wheat extract used in your assay (mg wheat extract/ml solution). You need also to know the volume of this extract solution used in the Folin-Ciocalteu assay (µl or ml).
