Each country has legislative acts that spell out the following:
"veterinary point" - a sanitary block and an isolation ward;
"aviary" - any (outdoor or indoor) type of permanent place of keeping animals (aviary, cage, aviary, corral, pond, terrarium, aquarium, aquaterrarium, pool, etc.);
"animal show" - an event for the demonstration of animals, the main objectives of which are cultural and educational goals, exchange of experience, conducting zootechnical and breeding events, as well as finding potential owners for pets;
"hydrobionts" - living organisms for which the aquatic environment is the main habitat;
"dolphinarium" - a legal entity or an individual entrepreneur carrying out on a permanent basis activities for the maintenance, demonstration and use in performances of various species of dolphins and representatives of other species of aquatic mammals;
"zoo" - a legal entity or individual entrepreneur carrying out activities on a permanent basis for the demonstration of animals, containing a zoological collection, contributing to the conservation of animal species through environmental education, collection and dissemination of information about animals, recreation and research. This concept is applied to animal parks, safari parks, bird parks, aquariums and specialized collections (collections of live invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals);
"zoo" - a legal entity or individual entrepreneur carrying out on an ongoing basis activities to demonstrate animals and plants, containing zoological and botanical collections, contributing to the conservation of animal and plant species through environmental education, collection and dissemination of information about animals and plants, recreation and research ;
"Zoo theater" - a legal entity or an individual entrepreneur carrying out on a permanent basis activities for the preparation and display of thematic performances, other public performances with the participation of animals, in which the genre of circus training is presented, with an arena, stage, premises for keeping animals;
"isolation ward" - a room where animals suspected of having a disease or suffering from infectious animal diseases are kept;
"training (training)" - the process of preparing animals for mastering the skills necessary for public demonstration of tricks in the framework of the use of animals for cultural and entertainment purposes;
"recreational swimming with dolphins" - interaction of a visitor to the dolphinarium while swimming in the pool with dolphins specially prepared for this procedure for therapeutic (rehabilitation) purposes;
"oceanarium" - a legal entity or an individual entrepreneur carrying out on an ongoing basis activities for the maintenance and demonstration of aquatic organisms that make up zoological and botanical collections, contributing to the conservation of animal and plant species through environmental education, collection and dissemination of information about animals and plants, recreation and research ;
"organization" is a generalized concept of zoos, zoological gardens, circuses, zoos, dolphinariums and oceanariums, which are legal entities;
"playground for communication with animals" - a separate place (outdoors or indoors) on the territory of a zoo or zoo, where visitors can be in physical contact with animals (contact, feeding, drinking) in cultural and entertainment, educational, recreational or therapeutic purposes;
"sanitary block" - a room intended for the quarantine overexposure of newly arrived animals and keeping injured animals;
"training" - the process of teaching animals specific for them reactions to certain conditions or stimuli through positive reinforcement (reward) in order to improve the welfare of the animal - to improve the maintenance and (or) service, including veterinary services, as well as to prepare for lectures with a demonstration of animals outside the enclosure;
"circus" - a legal entity or individual entrepreneur carrying out circus activities on a permanent basis, having premises for keeping animals, a special spectacular structure with a domed covering and an arena designed for creating and (or) showing circus performances with animals, and (or) other venues used for circus activities involving animals;
"exposition" - a type of accommodation on the territory of a zoo or zoo of any animals and plants presented for demonstration (according to a systematic or landscape principle).
By evaluating each point, we will be able to understand the vulnerabilities, if any. At the same time, manipulating these criteria, we often observe the deplorable state of keeping animals.
