I'm currently designing a case study and are exploring how to make a rigor case study design. Therefore, i'm interested in identifying key references on how to conduct case studies within operations- and SCM research?
Both Fawcett et al. (2014) – http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/jbl.12039 – and Gibbert et al. (2008) – http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/smj.722 – provide some helpful suggestions. Yin's book (Case Study Research) is certainly also quite helpful. An example of a case study is: http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/j.2158-1592.2011.01021.x
I'm already looking into Yin. Also found this from Seuring (2008) -http://dx.doi.org/10.1108/13598540810860967
@Mostafa - It would be about the methods, more specifically, how to secure a rigor case study design in the field of operations and supply chain management.
Besides these positivist type of case studies (Eisenhardt; Yin) there are, of course, also other types of case studies, see for example the other types mentioned here: https://scmresearch.org/2017/11/24/four-types-of-case-study-research-designs/ I believe that it is time that SCM becomes more open to alternative methodological perspectives when it comes to case studies.
