Odds ratio of 0.554 was the result of meta analysis of comparing between 2 groups in respect to an outcome. To present this result in an papers, should interpret it to be correlated clinically. Not all readers of papers understand the statistics terminology, so, should clarifying this in an paper concerning meta analysis.
I'm not sure what the problem is. Do you fear that some readers won't understand the distinction between probability and odds? Perhaps you could just refer readers to another tutorial type article that explains all that--e.g., the one linked below. HTH.

I suggest to add the confidence interval to give a more precise idea of the effect and to discuss not only the overall value but also the upper limit (I guess 95% CI) to be more connsistent with potential implications. Odds are a little more complicate than risk ratio to be explained with propoportion of reduction.
