I have been working on the simulation of a solar panel on ansys fluent.The solar radiation was simulated with the discrete ordinates method and DO irradiation with data from the solar calculator.
While trying to calculate the electricity produced i was unable to find an ansys electrical simulation of the photovoltaic effect.Furthermore, if the electricity is somehow included does it automatically reduce the thermal energy of the model or should a repeated procedure be utilised?

I do not use this program that you mentioned, but I advise you to use HOMER software in your simulation because it is very easy.

Adding to Dr Omar, in order to solve for the solar cell, there are number of models that can be used to calculate the output power Po in response to the incident SOLAR RADIATION G. The simplest model is the behavioral model where one can express the output power in terms of the input solar radiation using the efficiency term so that Po= Eta G, where Eta is the conversion efficiency. The second model is the circuit model of the solar cells. Knowing the model parameters, one can calculate the maximum output power Pom where the solar cell must be operated.
The device level model where one solves for the semicondcutor equations to get the current of the solar cell at a given G and and terminal voltage V. This is the device model simulation where one has to provide the material parameters to solve the problem.
This is not a direct answer to your problem but some guide lines that can lead your way to the solution.
