While in this article, Zn-ions were delivered from Amalgam restorations, thus "metallic"-Zn resulting from corrosion, I suppose therefore that the available Zn-ions amount may be low and not equally distribued.

I wonder if it would not be more effective to consider Zn-salts compounds, like ZOP-cements, capable to deliver a solubility's related higher amount of ions, particularly when placed on a wet affected dentine...?

... moreover without the concerns about Amalgam !
