I am looking for a stable multi-rotor copter drone with lidar capabilities and am considering purchasing a DJI Matrice 300RTK with Zenmuse L1 Lidar Sensor for cultural heritage and archaeology applications

The platform offers now the option of multiple payloads including high-end RGB camera for photogrammetric applications simultaneously to the Lidar. This option makes it even more appealing for my needs.
Of course, I am open to considering alternative brands/models. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you.
I was looking into the L1 for vegetation monitoring uses and decided to trial a different sensor first (yellowscan mapper + which is still not a high end sensor). The opinion from most people I spoke with was you are getting what you pay for ie. lower quality data for a lower quality sensor. A lot of people will instantly write it off but ultimately it depends on what kind of accuracy is important to you. If a high quality digital elevation model is what you need then this might not be the sensor for you. @Nicola Lercari I will gladly recommend you go ahead with the DJI Matrices for it's capacity to carry additional payload unlike the other which is fixed in term of the lidar sensor that comes with it. Trust Mei can't mention the brand.
But I promise you that your aim will be achieved with the Matrice.
I would second Michael on this. Forgot to add in my original post that I have been using the Matrice 300 and am really happy with it.

I haven't bouth it jet but I have it on mind. What I read about is that is a very good option, so I think you could by it without been afraid, but be careful, you will need the software TERRA from DJI that will could increase the price considerably. On the other hand I read a lot about Geosun Nav.

Dear colleagues, thank you for your insights. I also heard from so many other people that you get what you pay for and that the DJI L1 system has a lot of problems with accuracy and dynamic calibration due to cheap IMU (critical for Lidar). After long research, we decided to purchase a more high-end sensor and UAS. We bought a RIEGL VUX-SYS with VUX-1UAV sensor and Applanix APX-20 IMU (top of the line for drones). The system also includes a 64 mpixel RGB camera (Sony Alpha 7R IV) and a Tau FLIR II thermal I/R camera. To carry this bonanza of sensors we purchased a Noa drone from AceCore Technologies. The drone weighs about 11-12 kg and the sensors about 5kg. So this option is still in category A3 (EU regulations under 25kg) and qualifies as a small UAS. We are testing it in Bayern and will scan our first sites in Slovenia and Sicily this summer. Let me know if need more info!
