Hi,,, zeid,, glomerular haematuria and dysmophic RBC and RBC cast is not a feature of diabetic nephropathy. You you get it in diabetic patient then you have to think that this nephropathy is not because of diabetes but may be because of glumeruronephritis. However haematuria can occur in diabetes patients because of infection or papillary necrosis.. Thanks
Thank you Baswsjit. I have been seeing microscopic glomerular hematuria in my diabetic patients whose biopsy showed only diabetic Nephropathy. This is the issue that I am trying to get some input on. I am not sure if you are aware of literature that had discussed this very point. Other causes of hematuria as you stated are nonglomerular and has no pertinent to diabetic Nephropathy (Glomerulosclerosis) although can be pertinent in subjects with diabetes.
