I have substantial question regarding to terminology. Actually "char-taq" is a Farsi word for masonry architectural form. Ottomans borrowed that word and started using for wooden frame (timber skeleton) building. They also scatted this term in Balkans. We are aware that this type of construction is known in the region from Neolithic.

My question: How those structures were called pre Ottoman?

Thanks

Ibrahim
