When you try to write a systematic literature review in a way that is suggested by many authors, You need to download the required research papers in literature "systematically". However, publishers ban your account for a good amount of time when you do so. Why do publishers providing these papers for your e-libraries, ban you due to downloading these papers only for "personal use"? Any idea? Is it fair?
Never heard of this but I guess searching on google scholar would always be better.It has a database of papers published unpublished dissertations etc
Volkan - it may not seem fair in terms of equitable access - but it is an important consideration for anyone undertaking a systematic review i.e. 'can you access all the material that meets your inclusion criteria?' If not (especially through institutional subscription and open access - then a reviewer would be correct in questioning the validity of the review.
I have never come across this problem, and I do quite a lot of searching and downloading of papers. However, I strictly use the service of my University library. I think this might be the key factor. What kind of subscription you (or your affiliation) have with the different publishers. I know that we have full access to the journals and therefore can download as much as we like.
