I was talking with a friend in Maryland this morning and we discussed dishonesty in scholarly research. Do you think you should protect your scholarly research? If so, how.

My friend and exchanged different ideas, but my point was, if I noticed that someone stole my work, I wouldn't say anything about it. I'd try to submit my work to scholarly journals and if it got declined I would upload it on any platform where anyone could see when I initially published the work and where it is now. I think Google Scholar allows this. This way readers can figure things out themselves. What do you think?
