I had been motivated by a scientist at Indian Science Congress when he told me that bacterial melanin can be used in leukoderma treatment. How can this be ? He had not revealed it to me.I have searched a lot. But unable to find anything. Please tell how bacterial melanin can be used in leukodermal treatment ?
I am not aware of any such thing, any such thing will be promptly rejected by the host immune system
Probably recombinant melanin homologous to human melanin can help in achieving the pigmentation
As far as I know, there is no way. This is very difficult, although sometimes addition of sepia melanin to topical creams has been tried, but they failed. I suppose that melanin should be encapsulated in some "liposomes" or "niosomes" that can be uptaked by epidermal cells and then be stable inside cells as melanin granules. Easy to say, difficult to get.. I do not think that bacterial melanin is better than other melanin, including synthetic melanin.
