I'll suggest histopathology most along with other markers. In serum biochemical test result of higher IgE, globulin, TCE indicates the whole body changes. Here histopathology provides confirming results, just like as we prefer in our laboratory.
Serum C-reactive protein is a good marker for inflammatory disease in general. Can also be elevated in neoplasia.
Inflammation in the bowel is usually lymphoplasmacytic or neutrophils unless it is Crohns where one finds granulomas (histiocyte or macrophage collections). An LCA
