Raw XRD data can be used to obtain lattice strain etc. For example,in case of Al-SiC composite powders, if lattice strain is increasing and crystal size is decreasing then what can we conclude from these observations.
If you observe the shift of reflections to low angles, that means the lattice parameters are increased, the lattice strain is tensile; If the reflections shift to high angles, the lattice parameters are decreased, the lattice strain is compressive.
It has no direct relationship with the grain size. Please check in the Al-SiC system, in Al is in tensile and SiC is in compressive.
