Yes, online cheating is very rampant in assessment. In my class, I used formative assessment in assessing students learning to lessen the cheating.

@In fact, the various programs and techniques currently available in the e-teaching process at the conditions of Covid-19 pandemic around the world are distinguished by capabilities that enable them to communicate knowledge’s to the students and conduct tests for them in an acceptable manner. However, one of the defects in the evaluation tests for students through the aforementioned programs is characterized by the use of an open book system, and this leads to unfairness on the superior students. Therefore, I think that the method of not numbering the questions and the use of the question mixing feature in the electronic platforms should be used, in addition to making some indirect questions about the topics.
A factor that influences the reliability of a test and the validity of its scores is environmental conditions. Since online tests are done in different environments out of teachers’ control, their questions should be tailored to challenge students’ critical thinking and time management. So doing could minimize cheating and enhance the reliability of test scores. Here is a good read.
