Today's society is completely different from years before. This has never been more true now after the pandemic as there are still schools doing all virtual and students have become familiar with doing less work while in the virtual style. Students have lost motivation for academic tasks both in and out of the classroom. Teachers know motivation and engagement matter and are central to learning. When students are not motivated or engaged they do not retain any of the information or lesson of the day.

The problem of practice that has been in the forefront is student motivation. It has been common through grade levels 6-8 for students to not show any type of intrinsic motivation. They are not motivated to do things for themselves.

I have considered this question as well: How does teaching executive skills-- help increase motivation.

What tools can be used to measure this question?
