Electronics cooling using nanostructures How can we increase the performance of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes for electronics cooling?
The cooling characteristic is related to thermal conductivity of CNTs. I had few experiments on aligned CNT growth using PECVD. the thermal conductivity of CNTs are strongly related to their length, chirality and defects. you need really good seeds to growth perfect similar MWCNTs with proper chirality and ultra long length ( I use ni for seed) . However there are few reports that show that by increasing length, their effects on thermal conductivity are reduced. remember that the density of CNT in um2 is important. Too tight CNTs are show less thermal conductivity.

@Masoud Berahman: Thank you very much sir. I am also working on Ni catalyst. I want to grow vertically aligned CNTs on copper substrate. Some people have done this work already. What according to you is the issue that has to be addressed in more details in this direction? Kindly give your opinion.
