We're in need of a new way to power our planet. Our nearest star offers more than one possible solutions. We're already harnessing the sun's energy to produce solar power.
Can increse efficiency of Semi conductor materials for photovolic solar power.Or use better structures for focusing solar light to extract maximum energy for steam formation in Solar thermal
It is not within our means, nor for our benifit, to increase the ammount of energy radiating from the sun, so the only alternative it to extract the available energy more efficiently.
Much research is done in this regard and one should keep a tab on the following technologies:
- More efficient PV materials
- Catalytic water dissociation. (good results have been achieved with cobalt based catalysts)
The possibility of a new breakthrough in directly tapping energy from the sun is ever existant, however, these are rare.
U need to use mirrors to increase intensity of solar energy for a particular device
