The breeding technology is successful but the survival of hatchling to fry is very low in the case of Pangasius hypophthalmus. It needs to solve by proper research. The science behind the low survival is clear but the technique to increase the survival is lacking.
Firstly, you need to standardized the fertilization protocol as well as the incubation technique of fertilized oocytes. Sometimes, water parameters (e.g. water hardness, temperature etc.) might make problem for hatching and post hatching survivability. So you have to take care a lot of things
Does the technology to breed Pangasius produce consistent and large number of fertilizable eggs ? I suspect the egg quality of the stripped or laid eggs is of low quality. Calcium hardness, dissolved oxygen, pH and temperature need to be optimum in the hatchery water for your fry survival. If the science is not available, you have to evaluate one parameter at a time.

The number of fertilized eggs are are sufficient but we found that low survival of hatchlings to fry and fry to fingerlings is due to cannibalism among them.
