If you was also interested in the surface morphology and you want to detect the final product surface texture, you could use also an optical no-contact 3D profilometer. It is a non destructive and very adaptive technique. It allows one to observe micro or nano surface details and quantify different roughness parameters. It is also possible to obtain 3D topographic maps.

U can determine the contact angle and wettability of the interface by Optical Tensiometer. This would help to study the interfacial character.

The behavior of polymers at interfaces is of fundamental importance in a wide range of technologies and applications. Industrial processes imply surface active components such as catalysts, colloids, surfactants, adhesives, coatings. Adhesion, lubrication, stabilization, controlled flocculation of colloidal dispersions, biological macromolecules function at natural interfaces such as cell membranes etc. The difference in attraction forces between molecules in the bulk and at the surface is the reason of the existence the surface tension and/or surface energy. However, Surface energy (γ) and thus the work of adhesion (WA) represent the sum of components associated with the types of bonding in accordance to the chemical nature of the material it depends. Chemical, electrostatic and mechanical theory can be used for characteristics study of composites.

Composites characterizations study

PPy (Conducting polymer (polypyrrole (PPy) composites can be prepared with carbohydrate polymers like cotton (textile), linen (Natural cellulosic fibre), modified cellulosic fibre-viscose rayon and synthetic polymer polyester fabrics. The surface morphology and chemistry of these materials can be analysed by SEM, FT-IR, and XRD. It reveals that the PPy has greater interaction with the cellulosic fabrics, but whereas surface deposition only has taken place with synthetic fibres. The capacitive behavior of the PPy coated textiles can be evaluated using cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy and charge–discharge analysis.
