How can we calculate free carbon content of white cast iron?

Like what method should we use to calculate such quantity

There is no free carbon in white cast iron as I know. Am I wrong?

In other cast irons you can calculate free carbon content by microscopic method using microsections without etching.

Or by burning the precipitate in oxygen after dissolution in nitric acid by gas-volumetric, coulometric, infrared spectroscopy methods.
