As I travel the world working in well established International schools as both an educator and administrator, I stumble on this issue without exception.

The IB PYP philosophy often does not match a country's philosophy of education and what is often required by parents and other stakeholders - due to lack of knowledge of the programme, even after workshops, prior experience in more innovative approaches to education, and general nervousness in reaction to change - is an alignment of the PYP and the existing curriculum.

The IB has worked hard in aligning the PYP to the learning objectives of the US's Common Core, but what is needed is a general successful approach to how to do this.

I am looking for information as to how to do this successfully in any country, and hopefully produce an approach to this that can be used by any curriculum coordinator or designer.

I will gratefully accept any an all insights, previously tried approaches, and ideas.

Many thanks in advance,

Toni Favilli
