We use a thin waterbased coating (1 micron) for reducing the coefficient of friction and enhancing in the lubricity. But still we are not getting the appropriate results. Please suggest the easiest way to check its coefficient of friction and formability and also suggest the appropriate additive /resin for waterbased system to achieving these properties?

Coating material is based on sol-gel technology which includes inorganic-organic hybrid silane based binders. Substrate is Galvannealed and galvanized iron.
Yes, sol-gel technology is a very effective for your goal (thin antifrictional waterbased coating). If you can not obtain a low friction coeffcient of this coating, try to introduce antifrictional modificators. In case of unsufficient adhesion of layer to substrate, the cleaning and activation of substrate's surface must be implemented. You can try to use phenolic and epoxy binders having good adhesion to metal and high mechanical characteristics (and enough low friction coeffcient after modification).
