Relative Permeability, an important rock property, is normally measured in the laboratory using reservoir gas and oil samples. It's however reported that some researchers provide the air-water Kr instead of natural gas-water systems.
My question is whether there is a technique to convert the measured air-water Kr data and generate the natural gas-water Kr data.
Handling air instead of another gas, either hydrocarbon or non-hydrocarbon gas, is easier and safer for experimentalists. This motivates the experts to shift towards this approach. On the other side, the experts should lean how they can convert the measured results to real case of oil and gas components
Relative permeability is a function of capillary pressure and wettability behavior. I think you can use the J-function concept to relate the Chang on the capillary pressure in case of natural gases comparing to air.
