The gas condensate fluids are light products and thought to be free of components which may cause solid formation in reservoir, well bore and storage tanks. However, there is evidences of sludge formation in condensate storage tanks in refineries and transfer ports. I am looking for papers and other documents which address worldwide evidence of wax formation in gas condensate systems, compositions that lead to wax formation, consequences of wax and sludge formation, prevention techniques, etc.
Wax formation in Gas Condensate Reservoirs and Condensate Storage Tanks or in any surface facility infrastructure is exclusively a function of operating conditions. The more common operating conditions are; pressure, temperature, in-situ reservoir fluid composition. There is an abundance of published stuff incluiding the case studies regarding Asphaltene precipitation, hydrate, sludge and wax formation. Basically, the subject matter is under the umbrella of Flow-Assurance and Production-Transportation-Storage optimization.

What are the peculiar effects of waxy gas condensates, volatile oils and wet gas in pipelines and risers as compared to that of dead oils? Do any special considerations have to be made during sampling, wax deposition tests, treatment method selection and numerical modelling?
