When I was in the intermediate school, I had a classmate who is labeled as 'stupid' by most of the teachers. He couldn't succeed in his study and he left school. Recently I met him by chance , he is now a very skillful carpenter. When I saw his artful works , I asked myself, how such beautiful pieces of art come to be the production of a stupid person?

Personal opinion. If you have in the long period a much better score than this, you have chosen a very easy field of study. The "magical" 85% number of success is counted as an ideal number for wisdom as an opposite of stupidity.
Stupidity is the inability to make an accurate judgement or take a wise action.

Stupidity is an act of foolishness. Maturity, environment, education and level of exposures may also account for stupidity.
Lack of maturity of a person showing lack of sense or judgement due to innate one or environmental factors leads to stupidity.
Dear colleagues, thank you for providing different definitions in this discussion. But do you agree that , as classroom teachers, our perception of stupidity is sometimes narrow or inaccurate.
