see achieving p type ZnO is like big dream in the eyes of many researchers it will definitely open new dimensions for wide band gap electronics. there are few reports in literature claiming p-type ZnO which i believe lack reproducability. technically it is difficult to achieve the same as ZnO has low formation energy for Zn interstitial defect which act as shallow donor and make this wonderful material as n-type. quenching the formation of Zn interstitial defect in ZnO can open new ways for p-type ZnO. so my suggestion to you is to think in this direction. may something positive come out of that.
