Hi ResearchGate community,
I am a political theorist (limited coding skills) and in my research I am looking at an online campaign occurred between 2019-2021. I would like to gather the tweets that fostered that campaign, which was rather circumscribed - the total tweets should not exceed 5000 (rough estimative).
However, apps to collect data on Twitter (such as Netlytic or Maxqda) as well as X's API in the developer portal grant access only to one-week old tweets. The only option I found to access full-archive endpoints is by purchasing an Enterprise account in X Developer portal, for the prohibitive amount of 42.000$ per month.
Hence, my questions are:
-are crawling and/pr scraping an option, especially considering data protection policies and X's policies?
-is there any app or program that can access past tweets?
-any other suggestion on how to approach this issue?
Many thanks!
